Postage

  •  Whether you are swapping or selling… ALWAYS use ‘Tracked 24’ or ‘Tracked 48’ when sending an item.

  • Tracked 24′ costs £3.50 for a large letter (35.3cm X 25cm X 2.5cm) up to 250g, which is more than enough to send an individual video game in a padded envelope.
  • Trusted Traders can use ‘Tracked 48’ if both parties are happy to do so, which brings the cost down to £2.70 but all new traders must use ‘Tracked 24’.
  • With Tracked 24 and 48 your package is insured for up to £150 and you will receive a tracking number which is to be sent to the recipient.
  • When filling out the postage information RM will ask for the recipient’s email and phone number to keep them updated on the progress.
    This is up to the recipient to give. If they are not happy to do so, use your own email and phone number.
  •  When choosing your package information you can choose to get your package collected from your house free of charge and RM will even bring your label if you can’t print it out yourself.
    Or if you prefer you can take it down to the Post Office to send but there will be a small charge.
  • If you are sending larger packages, please use the Royal Mail Tracked service, for example a Tracked 24 package between up to 2kg costs £4.19 and a 5-10kg package costs £8.99.
  • Keep your proof of postage, if we see that you’re doing a high rate of swaps or sales we will be in contact and ask for proof of these swaps. If you can’t provide them, then you will be banned.
  • Any Member found to not be following the correct postage rules will be issued a warning and depending on the issue, a lifetime ban.
  • These rules are there to protect all Game Swap Shop UK members and to continue the successful, safe and secure service that our community continues to expect, Thank You.

Rules for Basic Members

  • New Basic Plan Members can only swap with Trusted Swappers for their first swap.
  • New Basic Plan Members MUST send their game first when swapping with the Trusted Swapper.
  • Once a New Basic Plan Member has completed 1 Successful Swap, they will become a Trusted Swapper.
  • All Basic Plan Members, Trusted or New, are limited to 1 ‘Ongoing Swap’ at a time.
  • All Basic Plan Members can buy games after the 24-Hour Priority Access for Premium Members has expired.
  • Basic Plan Trusted Swappers Can have NO MORE than 1 ‘Ongoing Swap’ at a time (Swap in ‘Swap Agreed’ status)
  • If Swapping with a New Member You MUST send your game within 48 hours of receiving your game. (Preferably 24 hours)
  • Basic Trusted Swappers Can Swap with Anybody.
  • All Basic Plan Members can buy games after the 24-Hour Priority Access for Premium Members has expired.
  • Basic Plan Buyers can buy games 24 hours after it has been put up for sale on the WebApp.
  • Basic Plan Buyers can buy 3 games at a time.
  • Only use UK bank transfers and PayPal to pay for goods.
  • The Buyer must pay the agreed upon amount before the seller sends any goods.
  • The Buyer is responsible for what they buy so make sure to ask questions, ask for photos and make sure that you are 100% confident and happy with the sale.

Rules for Premium Members

  • New Premium Plan Members CAN NOT Swap with New Basic Plan Members.
  • New Premium Plan Members can swap with Trusted Swappers and other New Premium Plan Members, if both parties are happy to do so.
  • New Premium Plan Members MUST send their game first when swapping with a Trusted Trader.
  • Once a New Premium Plan Member has completed 1 Successful Swap, they will become a Trusted Trader.
  • Your first 3 swaps will be limited to 1 ‘Ongoing Swap’ at a time. So, when you click ‘Swap Agreed’ with a member you will be unable to make another swap until that swap is completed by selecting ‘Game Received’.
  • After 3 Successful Swaps a Premium Plan Trusted Swapper will be able to have 2 ‘Ongoing Swaps’ as well as unlock the ability to sell games directly to thousands of UK based trusted gamers.
  • After 10 Successful Swaps a Premium Plan Trusted Swapper will be able to have 3 Ongoing Swaps
  • If swapping with a New Member, make sure they send the game to you first, then once received you MUST send your game within 48 hours (Preferably 24 hours). Remember: the other member will rate you after swapping so be punctual and keep the member as up to date as possible.
  • Premium Trusted Traders Can Swap with Anybody.
  • Premium Plan Trusted Sellers can sell their games directly to all Game Swap Shop UK members.
  • Premium Plan Trusted Sellers can only ever have 5 items up for sale and can only ever have 2 items in ‘Sale Agreed’ mode until they have reached 10 sales and then they can sell 5 items at once.
  • Sellers MUST have a UK bank account in order to sell items.
  • Seller must only receive money via UK Bank account or PayPal.
  • When sending the item to the buyer, it must be sent correctly and insured for the value of the agreed upon sale. All video games must be sent ‘First Class Signed for’ Minimal.
  • When pricing your item for sale do bear in mind that the price you ask for will cover the price of postage to the buyer. For example: If you want £30 for a game maybe price it at £33 to cover your postage.
  • Selling goods for more than the R.R.P. is forbidden. Any member that breaks this rule will receive a lifetime ban… Justice will be swift.
  • Using our 24-Hour Priority Buying Access, Premium Plan Buyers can buy games put up for sale the second the Member uploads it, giving Premium members first access on new games and hardware for sale.
  • Premium Plan Buyers can buy as many games as they want at a time.
  • Only use UK bank transfers or PayPal to pay for goods.

  • When sending an item, make sure to use the correct postage. Postage requirements are located within the rules and when selecting Swap/Sale Agreed.
  • Make sure the photo is of the item you will be sending and not an internet image.
  • Any member can post as many as 10 swaps at a time but depending on your membership ability determines how many ‘Ongoing Swaps’ you can have.
  • Once your ongoing swap limit is reached, all your other swap posts will be temporarily removed so nobody can interact with them, preventing over swapping.
  • Once an ‘Ongoing Swap’ has been ‘Completed’ (Game Received) the rest of the members games will be available for other members to interact with again.
  • All Members with less than 3 swaps can only have 1 ‘Ongoing Swap’ (Swap in ‘Swap Agreed’ Status).
  • Troublemakers WILL BE banned. No ifs, ands or buts.
  • Treat people with respect and be polite when direct messaging or while on the FB Group.
  • Reply to people who offer you swaps, it’s just common courtesy.
  • Please be aware that there may be new members on the site, and they may require a bit of patience and help.
