General

Remember to be polite, punctual, informative and communicate clearly as at the end of each swap or sale you will be rated by the other party.

Do not agree on any swaps or sales if you can’t make it to a Post Office or use the ‘Click and Drop’ Service within 48 hours of agreeing.

(Unless otherwise agreed upon with the other party.)

If you keep missing games you want, upgrade to our Premium Membership, and never miss a swap by using our new and improved Game Alerts.

Adding your Facebook link allows you to receive Game Alerts on FB messenger and allows all members to see your FB profile providing piece of mind to all members.

(Only premium members has access to Game Alerts.)

Look for your name on the Trusted Swapper/Seller Tables to check out your monthly and all-time swaps.

(Only premium members can sell items and become a trusted seller.)

Try to take a well-lit, focused image of your item/items when advertising on the WebApp.

(If the image is unclear some members will be put off interacting with the post.)

Swapping

Help new members become Trusted Swappers by swapping with them. You do not have to send anything until you receive your game and it helps build the community.

Use the search bar to jump to a specific game or hardware.

Join our Facebook Group – Game Swap Shop UK (Group) to help advertise your games for swap.

(All swaps are completed on the WebApp.)

Sales

As a buyer you are responsible for what you buy, so make sure you’re 100% happy with the item/items you’re buying.

(Be sure to ask for photos and or videos. All sales are final.)

Ask the seller when they expect to send the item/items, so you know when you will receive them.

Be realistic when choosing the price for your item/items. Have a look on the sales feed to compare similar items.

When calculating the amount you want for the item/items, this will be the final price. Please allow for postage and packaging.

When selling an item/items, the final price must not exceed the current R.R.P.

(Unless the item is a limited run or very rare.)

Posting

After agreeing a swap or sale you must post the item/items within 48 hours unless otherwise agreed with the appropriate parties.

If you’re lucky, some members will receive some sweets or goodies within their package. We encourage this behaviour and feel it is great for the community, but it is not mandatory.

(Could be a good way to increase your rating.)

If you don’t want to use the postal service, you can find out where the seller is and find a halfway point to meet.

(We advise all members that opt for meeting other members to be accompanied by another person.)

Royal mail’s ‘click and drop’ service is the most convenient and efficient way to post your item/items. If you are familiar with the service or feel confident in using click and drop we advise this option over going to the post office.

(Anyone using this service will need a working printer to print out the appropriate labels.)

You must have a postal address within the UK.

If you know you won’t make it to a post office within 48 hours the royal mail will pick up any item/items 6 days a week for a small fee.

If you are going to the Post Office, do not be Up-Sold, ‘First Class Signed For’ (£2.85) is enough to send one game. You will receive a tracking number and be insured for up to £50 if Royal Mail loses it.

Game Swap Shop UK will provide a Middleman Service as a last resort option for any member to ensure the item items they buy are as advertised.

(In order to use this service members must contact GSSUK directly and fees will apply.)
